The city ground to a halt with huge jams being reported well on almost all major roads, water entered homes in many localities and, at one place, the road itself caved in due to the heavy rain.
There were however some who made the most of the rainfall, and enjoyed themselves thoroughly.
We bring you pictures from Delhi during the rain- mostly of the woes, but also a few thrills.
